[glow=skyblue,1,100]Ice Blade[/glow]
Niev forms ice into a sharp weapon, such as a knife, claws, sword, spike, spear or anything pointy. The blade is extremely sharp, and hard as well, but if used to slice something warm, it is one-time use, because it will melt. She can keep it frozen in any tempurature, however, but the hotter the tempurature, the harder it is to maintain it.
[glow=skyblue,1,100]Ice Surfer[/glow]
Niev forms ice around her feet, allowing her to glide along, even across small gullies.
[glow=skyblue,1,100]Flurry/Snowstorm/Blizzard[/glow]
Niev conjures up snow that billows into her opponents face. Snow Flurry has the least snow, only enough to temporarily delay an opponent so she can get away, or to make an opening for easy attack. Snowstorm creates more snow, enough to blind and confuse an opponent for a half minute or so, more than enough time to get in plenty of strikes or make distance between Niev and her opponent. Blizzard causes a massive amount of snow to fly at the enemy, causing extreme amounts of cold, often causing hypothermia and frostbite.
[glow=skyblue,1,100]Hailstorm[/glow]
Niev conjures up multiple small, sharp icicles, which she then hurls at her opponent at high speed. If aimed at vital at vital organs, it can kill, or if aimed at less lethal areas, easily detain.
[glow=skyblue,1,100]Snow Drift[/glow]
Niev causes a large amount of snow to cover her opponent, much like a snow drift. It can be hard to dig one's self out.
[glow=skyblue,1,100]Ice Shell[/glow]
Niev creates a thick sheet of ice over herself or her enemies. It can be used to shelter herself, or to trap an opponent. If the opponent cannot escape, they run risk of dying from excessive cold.
[glow=skyblue,1,100]Ice Trap[/glow]
Niev causes a bowl of ice to form around her opponent. The slippery sides make it hard to escape. She then causes many spikes to shoot out of the ice, often impaling her opponent.
[glow=skyblue,1,100]Ice Armor[/glow]
A layer of ice forms around Niev's body in the shape of armor. The armor is hard, but can melt if exposed to flame. This keeps Niev safe from harm for a good minute or two, but if she stays in it too long, it can give her hypothermia or frostbite.
[glow=skyblue,1,100]Ice Man[/glow]
Niev hurls many particles of ice at her opponent, before freezing the ice around her enemy in the shape of a cube. This prevents movement, and only if the person is very strong can they escape.
[glow=skyblue,1,100]Ice Veins[/glow]
Niev places her hands on her opponent, and causes the blood to freeze in their veins. This initially only slows movement, but then leads to frostbite, and death.
[glow=skyblue,1,100]Snow Leopard[/glow]
Niev causes snow to burst up from around her opponent's feet in the shape of a Snow Leopard's head, with large icicles for teeth. The Snow Leopard then bites down, impaling them with icicles and burying them in snow.
[glow=skyblue,1,100]Dragon's Frostbite[/glow]
Niev creates what is essentially an avalanche of snow, but she can manipulate it to fly through the air briefly as well. The front of the avalance is lined with ice spikes. This is her most deadly attack, but she was to be careful, or else she'll get buried, too.
[glow=skyblue,2,500]Abilities:[/glow]
As a Snow Leopard-Cat Chimera, Niev is extremely fleet of foot. She can jump extremely high, and can climb just about anything as though it was level-ground. She can see in the dark, but also can conciously change the dilation and contraction of her cat-slit pupils, so she is immune to snow blindness. She is extremely flexible, as well.
[glow=skyblue,2,500]Weapons:[/glow]

[glow=skyblue,2,500]Other:[/glow]
Niev is three-quarters Ishbalan, one quarter Amestrian. She does not have red eyes like most Ishbalans.

[glow=skyblue,2,500]Physical Descriptions:[/glow]
Niev has a slim build. Though 18, her development has been surpressed so that her body looks no older than 15 or 16. She is lithe and wiry beneath the modest body, however. She can lift far more than most people, and has incredible endurance. Her torso is graceful, if uncurved, and she stands at 5' 4". Her skin is tan and smooth, characteristic of an Ishbalan.
Niev's face is delicate, often adorned with a small contemplative smile. She has large, gentle eyes that are icy blue, almost white, unusual for an Ishbalan. Her pupils are small cat-slits, one of the few outward signals of her being a Chimera. Her hair is long and white, falling to her waist and flying about her in wisps like mist at the slightest breeze. Many strands are adorned with two or three glassy, navy-blue beads. A few stray hairs often fall onto her face. She wears two hoop earrings on her left ear, each silver and having small black markings on them.
Though Niev's dark tan skin seems to have no blemish, there are two or three to mention. One is on the upper right of her forehead. A small cross-shaped scar is there, almost unnoticable. Another is meant to be there. One the palms of her hands, she was tattooed transmutation circles. Also, on her left forearm, the code '726' is tattooed, her experiment number. She woke up from treatment with this on her hand.
Niev is used to cold weather by now. In the North, she would often wear a long, pale blue shirt and dark blue pants. Both are lined with soft fur. The shirt has a mandarin collar, and is form-fitting, while the pants hang loosely about her legs. She would wear soft, white fur boots and matching white gloves. Now that she was been made to continue on to warmer weather, she wears a very similar style of clothing. The shirt is almost identical, though it lacks sleeves and fur. The pants are the same as well, but have no lining, either. She wears white sandals. The one thing that stays constant is her earrings and her silver necklace, which has a dark blue, tear-drop shaped pendant.
[glow=skyblue,2,500]Personality:[/glow]
Gentle and quiet are two good words for the way Niev appears. Helpful, kind and overall, a good person. Though she often seems pensive and distant, she is rarely cold. She is loyal to friends, but one can tell she is not fully opening up her heart; in her pale eyes, one can see worlds of pain. Despite this, she is often calmly happy.
There is anoter side to her, though. This is the side when the pain puts her in motion- she becomes bitter, spiteful and angry. She shows a strong will to survive, stopping at nothing to ensure her own life and the lives of others. She has no qualms about killing a rabbit for supper or when killing an attacker with sacriligiously brief lethality. She detaches, in a way, becoming unbound to her conscience.
Niev seems to be more comfortable alone, rather than in a group. She prefers to seclude herself, spending days living in tune with nature, catching food and making shelters. She spends a good deal of her time thinking, often looking distant. She is happiest with this simple, practical style of living. It gives her a feeling of purpose.
Niev is haunted by many memories, of her family, of her brother, of the first weeks of cold adaptation, waking up in a stark, white room. They all reflect in her eyes and her manner. When reminded of these memories, she either falls catatonic, or becomes a bitter fighting machine. She loathes the government because of what they did to her family.
[glow=skyblue,2,500]Background:[/glow]
Niev was born in Ishbal, into a kind and loving family. She had an older brother, Mordecai, who was six years old when she was born. Mordecai always watched his younger sister like a hawk, making sure no harm came to her. She had two best friends, Kilei and Yeshua. She had had a crush on Yeshua, ever since she was small.
Niev learned a small amount of alchemy, by listening at closed doors and sneaking into tents, unnoticed, but ever vigilant. Her brother know a small amount of alchemy, and taught her what he knew. She showed promise, but was too busy with what seemed at the time to be very important things, like sleepovers and playdates.
When she was nine, the Isbalan War had begun. Kilei and Yeshua's family were leaving, but the Hokokes had to stay, because their grandmother, Ansumati, had fallen ill. Before Yeshua left, he revealed to Niev that he liked her, too, very much. He gave her a kiss, and promised to meet her again someday, and then they would live together always. At age nine, this vow seemed entirely possible.
When the army reached their town, Gwynneth and Youta, her parents, sent Mordecai and Niev to a military train, where they were to hide. A tall, muscular officer found them. He took pity on them, however, and helped them into a car. It seemed that things were going to be alright. Then, a few nights later, a search was conducted on the train. Mordecai put Niev into a crate. At the time, Mordecai was fifteen, and unable to fit. He gave himself up, and was shot. Niev could only hear the gunshots and shouts.
Three days later, all the water she had brought along was gone. All she had left was a small pack of crackers. It had been getting colder in her crate. Finally, the train came to stop. Niev immeaditely pulled herself out of the crate, and crawled off the train. She was met by a world of white, cold and soft. She had never seen snow before, but words from up ahead caused her to head off into the unknown.
Niev had never felt so cold. She spent her first night huddled beneath a pine tree. She ate her entire pack of crackers, but got no sleep. In the morning, she realized that this would have to be her home. She gathered together pine branches and made a small tepee shape. There was just enough room to fit her. After a few tries at starting a fire, she tried alchemy. It worked fairly well. She realized then that she would have to catch food. In her bag she had only a bowl, a blanket, a change of clothes, a knife and a rope. She layered herself in both pairs of clothes, and tied the blanket around her. She was still cold, but it helped. She set several snare traps, before returning to her tepee. She made herself tea with pine needles, before going to sleep with a half-full belly.
In the morning, she checked her traps immeaditely. She had caught a bird, but she sat with it a long time. She didn't want to kill it, but her stomach was growling. It was noon before she decided to kill it. The meat on the bird was insubstantial, but it was a mental victory. She set more traps, and went back to sleep.
Soon, Niev was living on a steady diet of rabbits, birds and pine tea. Her tepee had grown, and she had lined it with furs, and her clothings was stuffed with downy feathers and soft fur. She had adapted well. She was about twelve when she encountered a bear. She barely got away, by running to her tepee and waving fire in the bear's face. She had gotten very good at making fires with alchemy. She now decided to hone her skills to protect herself.
Niev had a fair amount of free time, as she had finished exploring most of her surrounding forest. She learned to use snow and ice as her weapons in alchemy, as they were the most readily available materials to her. She used frostbite to scar transmutation circles onto her hands. After three months, she encountered another bear. She successfully killed it, and found that she very much liked the taste of bear meat. She made a cloak from the fur. She then decided she wouldn't always stick to small prey.
From then on, her diet grew. Not only did she eat small things like birds and rabbits, but she also at the elk and bear that roamed her forest. She expanded her tepee rather nicely, so that every night she slept warm and peacefully. She had combined her furs, deer leather and clothing to make attire that always kept her warm.
Everything was fine for Nev. She always had food, always had shelter, and had stopped feeling lonely long ago. But then one day she venture briefly beyond her forest. She encountered a military patrol. She fought them with her alchemy. She tried to use her 'Ice Man' technique, but a gust of wind blew, and the alchemy backfired. She froze herself into a solid block of ice.
She woke up in a stark room with white walls. The door was closed. A food tray was set beside her bed. She became aware that she was incredibly hungry and that her throat was dry. She ate the tasteless bread and gulped down the water. Later, a man in a long white coat came in. Niev backed up in the corner. He told her that she was a successful experiment. She had been fused with a snow leopard and a cat. He offered her a mirror. She found that her pupils were now catlike slits. She threw the mirror at him. He backhanded her across the face, and spoke into a walkie-talkie. Two men came in, tall and burly. One nudged her forward with the butt of his gun. When she didn't move, she was knocked to the ground, before being roughly dragged to a cold, gray cell. The fall is what gave her the scar on her forehead.
Niev was kept there for days. Her food rations were small, the bread staler then what she had in the first room. Her furs had been taken away, replaced with an orange convict uniform. She was waiting for an oppurtunity. After about a week, she was brought out for examination and testing. It was torturous, and it filled Niev with hate. Her eyes became empty and cold. She refused to leave her room, or even move. She only knocked her food and water onto the floor.
This trend continued, and eventually, they sent a pleasant-looking woman, about 20, in. She was dressed in dark blue pants, and a light blue top, and white gloves. She wore glasses, and carried a clipboard. She had long black hair, adorned with beads. This was exactly the opportunity Niev had waited for. She wasted no time in detaining her. She changed into the woman's clothing, and took her key. She walked out, looking perfectly official. She exited the building, and headed off into the mountains. She returned to where her tepee had been, but it was in ruins.
Niev wasted no time in rebuilding her shelter, bigger and better than before. She worked twice as hard to catch prey, and soon, she had created a respectable home. The home was farther into the mountains, easily accessible for Niev, but not for anyone else. Her new abilities made her much more efficient in everything she did. She lined the woman's clothes with furs, and soon she had a respectable attire.
After about two years, she decided that she wouldn't risk recapture. She made herself a large pack, in which she placed many furs and dried foods. She left what had become her harsh but beloved home.
As Niev walked, she found that she could no longer withstand such high tempuratures. She shed her furs, cast away her boots and removed the sleeves from her shirt. She sold all her furs except for her bag. She bought a pair of sandals, and supplied herself with foods that she had long since forgotten.
She arrived in a small town. She was coming towards the east now. Here she came to the market. She saw someone.. he had white hair and red eyes. She immeaditely recognized Yeshua. She threw herself into the arms of a surprised but delighted Yeshua. He walked her down the street, to show her his home. They talked like in the old days.
"I've missed you so much. I still lo-" Niev was broken off by another familiar voice.
"Yeshua! Is that Niev?" called a woman in the doorway.
"Yes, honey! She's coming for dinner!" called back Yeshua. "Niev, do you remember Kilei? She's my wife." Niev was awestruck. A small boy of two peeked out from behind Kilei.
"Who dat, mama?"
Niev couldn't take it. She ran off, not stopping until she was far beyond the town. After that, she shed the name Niev Hokoke. It brought her only pain, and in big cities she would risk recapture. She took the name Marie Cold.
Niev, or 'Marie', continued to travel. She turned eighteen, and still did not settle down, her restless spirit urging her on.
