Alchemy:
Shidobu is of ancient times before Alchemy became popular and well used. Because of his history, his alchemy skills are now one of a kind.
Shidobu wears a leather wristband on his left hand that has a metal transmutation circle on it. It is very old, but still retains its shape and is in good condition. He also wears a crystal Celtic cross necklace- on the back of the pendant is another transmutation circle used for solely changing the shape of his necklace.
The crystalline alchemy is a very strong, yet much on the slower side alchemy. Shidobu will take the small fragments of crystals from the ground (that includes soil that has minerals of quartz, its that fine) and transmute them into a given shape while following Equivalent Exchange.
A viewer can say that Shidobu is very good at alchemy. The quality of his work is excellent from the decades of practice and perfection, however no matter how hard Shidobu practiced- it will always be a slower paced alchemy compared to others.
Then again, there’s really noting to compare since Shidobu almost never uses it. It is an alchemy that is long forgotten in the ages, and he does not want the military to use him as a lab subject.
Abilities:
Weapons:
A black katana made for the swift killing strokes of a samurai master. His sword is dubbed the Wo Dao. The black metal blade is about 3.5 feet long and if the hilt is included in the measurement it is 4 feet 3 inches. The hilt has a navy blue wrap around it and the swords guard is a dulled gold color in the shape of a shuriken. The blade also has the dulled cold color entwining with navy blue running down the length of the blade on the sides.
When (more like if) Shidobu draws his blade, his attacks are swift and strong but full of grace. He looks like he floats on the ground with his nimble footwork, but also appears to be moving very fast. His fights give him the look of an attacking illusion. From those who have seen Shidobu many years ago, he was known to possess “The Dance of Death.”

Physical Descriptions:
Eyes of dark grey are the keys to seeing what Shidobu is thinking. His complexion is of a creamy tan, on the very pale side. He stands at 5'10 with a toned body, muscles somewhat defined, but he retains a slim and healthy figure. He bares a set of very sharp canines in his mouth, only seen if he shows his teeth. His face remains usually the same- calm, collected, and usually very bland or empty when it comes to showing emotion. His ears are not those of a human, but those of a black fox. They fold into his hair, giving off the appearance you can’t see human ears because his hair is so shaggy and long since it runs to his chin and shoulders in multiple layers. The color is charcoal black, like the fur on his ears and tail. His tail however has a small paintbrush dip of white on the tip, same with his ears. They usually remain tipped down, but do perk up when high emotions run. Shidobu’s face also is slim and firm, yet soft. With a defined jaw line and a gentle arch for a nose, he appears as quite the man if he wasn’t so grim.
Mildly buff could be used to describe his body type. He is firm with some definition but not enough to attract attention. His hands are usually very cold to the touch, along with the touch of his heart. On his body is a tail- again the tail of a black fox. It swishes slightly at the tip when he walks. The only bat qualities one can say Shidobu has is in his alertness. At night, he remains awake until the early hours of two or three, and sleeps until seven. This semi-insomniac behavior is because of the clash of mental clocks of the bat and the human, resulting in very little necessary sleep. Physically speaking, the only bat qualities he has are the canines (but those are also from the fox DNA).
His face is flawless with scars, however the back of his neck has claw lines hidden by his hair. There are four, and they run on an angle from left to right going down to the middle of his right shoulder blade. They are hidden by his attire- a charcoal black blazer that fits like a vest. Beneath that is a white wife beater top to hide his abdominal area. He wears long and slim fitting pants that are the same color as his blazer. His sleeves conceal the alchemy wristband he has.
When it comes to accessories, Shidobu’s left ear is pierced twice with two silver hoops. His left hand has a hematite band on his pinky and middle fingers, his thumb with a wide sterling silver. His alchemy wristband is on his left. On his right hand is another sterling silver thumb ring, a titanium ring on his index that has a cryptic design on it, and his ring finger has a hematite band again; wider than the other on his pinky but it has a clouded quartz cross embedded into it.
And lets not forget the collar he wears around his neck. Black with a metal clasp. Why does he wear it? Who knows...
Personality:
A cold person. That’s more or less how anyone could describe Shidobu on first impression. Shidobu keeps his emotions to himself, locked away in his heart and in the back of his mind. On a rare occasion, one could see Shidobu show a face of real emotion: a smile, a frown, anger, even tears. Yet the last time he cried was so long ago he forgets what it’s like. He doesn’t remember ever being really angry, or being really happy. He gives off a mysterious vibe because of his near-mute nature. He has no need to speak to anyone or to get close with any living creature. They would die and leave him alone anyway, just like everyone else in his life. His personality is more towards the negative side, but can still think optimistically from a logical approach. He has been walking the earth for as long as he can remember back. Because his life is far longer than that of a normal human, Shidobu can barely hold onto his memories of being born and raised. Three hundred years makes it sound like its impossible to remember, but Shidobu had erased all other irrelevant memories to hold the only ones he needs- the ones that feed him his sanity.
Shidobu is known for being attached to the cold weather. He is most fond of rain and snow. He likes things that are quiet and solace, then again he also has a liking for loud music as well.
When Shidobu speaks, his voice is a low murmur. Not often does he raise it- but if someone heard him they would realize that his vocals are slightly raspy, but still have a smooth and soft tone to it. He’s randomly very polite by using Japanese honorifics to people. However, he completely ignores that when it comes to those who are a threat to him.
Things Shidobu likes? Well, he likes...actually, nobody really has a clue. Well, nobody but Shidobu has a clue. He’s one for being outside, zoning out on something from mother earth wether it’s a flower, a rock, the sky, or water. He’s still trying to figure out his purpose in life, and how he has left a trail in history. If he’s able to come across any book that describes him in any shape or form, he will immediately be wrapped up with the book day and night until he can remember what happened.
So, to make it simple, Shidobu likes:
His dislikes, however, are very simple.
Everything else he’s really content with.
His goals in life:
Background:
He was born 320 years ago in a now ancient village. It was cryptic, everything adorned with vines of nature, beneath them writing of an old tongue that was long forgotten in history. Shidobu Umou, the second eldest son of the Umou family had been born there. Dark hair and dark eyes- the child sprang to life once it was given to him.
His childhood was very simplistic. He spent his days as a toddler running amok the village, playing games with his brother who had a five year age difference; Usagi. He too had the same color hair and eyes. They grew up very attached to each other until adolescence came along. That’s when they began arguing over petty things and would wind up in fights- resulting in their parents separating them many times for punishment. Their home was made of stone carved out from a cliff side, alchemy was used to uphold it. Their home was more like a cave in depth but had the appearance of a regular stone home much like the other people of the village. But they were still the average family of the village- their sons excelling above average in sports and knowledge.
Their hometown was very religious- the name long forgotten to books. They were of the Moschet descent. Their religion was based upon the passing of memories and time. Nothing was to be altered with the natural flow of life. They would live life and pray to an upper being for the natural passages between life and death- and for an appropriate amount of time allotted between each phase.
Shidobu broke those rules when he came to the age of sixteen. He found in old scripture book and read about it intently. There was something about taking an amount of some item, and in proper proportion exchange with detailed diagrams transforming it into another. Alchemy. It warped Shidobu’s mind. He would be able to make things out of plan materials into something extraordinary. He intensively began sneaking off into the night, on the outskirts of the town in a hidden grotto he made with his own two hands, conducting experiments. His favorite material to use were crystals and gemstones. He would come home in the early hours of the morning and sleep until late morning, hiding his crystal results under his bed. It took him time, but Shidobu made amazing things: Silverware, Jewelry, Knives, decorative charms, statues, armor plates. It was all a secret from everyone.
Soon in that year, Shidobu’s family was given a foster child. A girl the same age as he. She had long brown hair and beautiful blue eyes. She wasn’t the skinniest in the world, but she was a face to get used to. She stuck out from the family and Shidobu didn’t care. They went everywhere together, except at night when Shidobu would work. Eventually the incest love set in. Shidobu fall with his step sister, Kurenai. She shared mutual feelings and they began to spend time together in secrecy. They shared two years worth of time together, Kurenai soon admitting she truly loved him. Love, the emotion of all time- something Shidobu couldn’t handle. He cared about her so much, but her emotions were too strong- too many faces to deal with, his tactics he would use with her feelings would be of no use. He began to doubt if he really cared or not. Kurenai found out, and she became devistated. However she allowed Shidobu time to think. After ten days, she coudln’t take it anymore. Kurenai reluctantly left him. Shidobu was upset for a time, but got over it. However, one morning when he returned to sleep, he opened the door and walked through the house to find Kurenai dead. She had drowned herself in the kitchen sink. Devistated and broken- he shouted in horror. He took his step sisters body from the water and held her in his arms as he sank to his knees, tears flying out of his eyes.
Her funeral was a sad one. Usagi and Shidobu remained quiet for the remainder of the year. Shidobu’s condition was far worse. Shidobu went back to his studies of Alchemy.
Eventually due to his insanity and the wanting to bring Kurenai back to life, he began transmuting animals together to create new ones- Chimeras. He was hoping if he developed enough skill to fuse animals, he could fuse an animal to Kurenai’s body, making her alive again in a new form. It was against their religion to alter fate, Shidobu knew of that. He had made twelve previous creations that fused animals. Hybrids, but still chimeras because the species were too distant to be the same. His thirteenth chimera was going to be a black fox and a common bat. He was hoping to get a fox with wings. It didn’t work this time, because as he made the transmutation circle on his wristband glow, tears were falling from his eyes. The molecules composing his tears fell onto the circle, throwing off the entire experiment.
With a blinding flash of light that engulfed the eighteen year old Shidobu in his grotto, pain set for in every inch of his body. He awoke exhausted, realizing he had become a chimera himself. A Human, Bat, and Fox. He was amazed that he was alive, but feared to leave his grotto. He hid there for many months.
Many many long months. Alone, and learning his powers by night. He would eat whenever he needed it, sneaking back to shops and secretly stealing because of his newly aquired stealth. But soon Usagi discovered him.
Found at last?
Usagi and Shidobu, after long discussions into the night, agred that Shidobu should leave the village that was so riotous with their religion. However, Shidobu needed to say goodbye to his parents. The night he snuck back into his home was his last. He awoke his parents and showed him what he became- what Usagi accepted. The did not. Shouting and scolding, Shidobu retaliated with fear and agony. He cried out to them why he could not be accepted, he was their son, he loved them and he prayed they would understand what happened.
They didn’t.
Running back upstairs into his old room, Shidobu took one crystal item with him- his cross pendant, and then fled through the door, leaving Usagi speechless and his parents alone.
He ran through the village, taking refuge in alleyways during the day, walking by night. It was a village connected to a city he had to pass in order to leave. Eventually word got through that he was still around- villagers and elders constantly looking for him. He was discovered one day, and ran again. He made it out, but was broken from the lack of acceptance and not receiving any benefit of the doubt.
Its when life began to change.
Shidobu realized after a few years wandering the world, he did not age past 25. With the fact he was immortal, Shidobu cracked. He had no more purpose. No time limit that provoked people to live life.
With that, he wandered the earth for hundreds of years- forgetting memories and gaining new ones.
It led him to this age now. Xing. He began living in Xing, where people did not admire nor shun his appearance. For say twenty years he was acutally content not on the move- the Western culture, similar to orental style appealed to him greatly. Soon he picked up honorifics and learned the ways of a samurai’s blade. He made it himself with those who were around him in training. Shidobu excelled the best in his time. Soon he was too good. He became a hand for hire- killing many people mercilessly without any second thought. It lasted for a long time, until he had to kill a woman who reminded him of Kurenai. After such a vast amount of time he remembered her. With that, Shidobu went on a beserk killing spree in the far off descolant town he was assigned to- everyone dead. Covered in blood, and withdrawing his katana after his Dance of Death, Shidobu once more took a step forward to pursue his never ending life. He wanted to see if he would leave a mark in history- a trail that could be subtly traced as he cried out his alias: The Project13 Chimera.
He left that country behind, now wandering with that same alias. Those who knew much of his existence he killed as well. He did not want to be followed by authorities, that is, if there were any. Shidobu is not aware of the type of world he lives in now, a new age where Alchemy is accepted and chimeras have existed many times.
Now he wanders around Central, looking for any clues of his past that he forgot about, and tracing his life back as far as possible. Also..if there is someone else in the world like him- if there is a Chimera who lives as he does- let alone anyone who lives as he does.
But Shidobu is lonely on the inside.
Someone once asked why he was still alive back when he was a mercenary- he said only one thing after decades of not speaking: “Memories fade with each passing day, every passing glance, every unnoticed death.
And I, still alive, am not yet fading with each passing sin?
Stuck in a life that has not yet been silenced?”
((ooc: I would've made the history so much more detailed, but I was itching to get it done- idk, maybe some other time I'll make it more elaborate.))

Abilities:
- As a Chimera, Shidobu possesses a few abilities because he is created from a human(himself),a bat, and a black fox.
- Shidobu has fangs that are always visible if he shows his teeth. They’ve got the strength of the fox, but the sharpness of the bat
- He also has claws about two inches long when they’re extended instead of fingernails.
- He is very good at climbing even the smoothest surfaces (but his feet and hands have to be bare)
- His appearance with having fox ears leads to having really good hearing
- Shidobu can see infrared vision, and night vision because of his bat traits
- He’s on the faster side (Quite speedy actually) and is very sneaky, especially at night and in the shadows.
- He can transform fully into a black fox that stands about two feet tall- from head to tip of tail 4 feet long. However when he is a fox he cannot communicate with humans or understand them through tongue.
Weapons:
A black katana made for the swift killing strokes of a samurai master. His sword is dubbed the Wo Dao.

So, to make it simple, Shidobu likes:
- Being outside
- Nature
- Nighttime, Twilight, and Dawn
- Full and crescent moons
- High places (rooftops, treetops, cliffs, etc)
- His sword *and he freaks when anyone touches it*
- Sticking to the sides
- Being unnoticed
- Shots (drinks)
- Graham crackers
- Beef jerky
His dislikes, however, are very simple.
- Military (because he doesn’t want to be locked away like other chimeras)
- Homonculous (he doesn’t want to get involved with their sick plots)
- Anyone touching his sword
- Being the center of attention
- People prying at his past
- Love
- Being judged
- Sweet food and drink
- The color orange
- Over-caring people
Everything else he’s really content with.
His goals in life:
- To find out why he still must wonder this world
- Where memories go when they are forgotten
- If there’s anyone else in the world like him that will live forever.
- To see if History will replenish his lost memories and remember him through time
